A note from Craig Wilson, EYCO regarding the non Domestic rates update in scotland.
“The Scottish Government have announced today that the next non‑domestic rates revaluation in Scotland will take effect in 2023, the same year as in England and Wales, but will be based on rental values as at 1 April 2022. Along with other specialists and trade groups, Accessible Retail lobbied against this action and encouraged the Scottish Government to continue with a rates revaluation in April 2022. Unfortunately this now means that it will be some 3 years after the start of this pandemic before rateable values can adjust to reflect the post pandemic value levels.”
