NPF4 and Scottish Planning Framework

  • Following the publication of the draft Scottish Planning Framework (NPF4), AR made representations to the Scottish Government on behalf of the membership
  • The Planning framework is in its final stages of approval, and we raised concerns in particular over the late addition of Policy 27 (d) which deals with drive thru retailing.
  • The concerns raised were in relation to the potential negative impact on EV charging policy, the impact on the out of town drive thru development and potential implications for investment and job creation, as well as the potential interpretation and application of the policy by local authorities.
  • The proposals from AR include a review of Policy 27 (d) and providing clarification on the application by Local Authorities.
  • We know some of our occupier members have similarly made representations on behalf of their own businesses, and would urge our membership to understand the proposed legislation and implications for themselves.
  • The AR representation can be found HERE
  • Please do get in touch with us if you want to be involved with AR and any further clarification and representations in respect of NPF4.
