Heat Networking Zone
‘Heat Network Zoning’ seeks views on the implementation of heat network zoning in England. Issues covered include: how zones will be identified; how they will be designated; what requirements will exist on buildings within zones; and how new heat networks will be delivered. It proposes that new buildings, existing communally heated buildings and existing non-domestic buildings will be required to connect to a heat network within zones (or at least be made heat network “ready”). Views are sought also on the connection process for buildings, on exemptions, on penalties for non- compliance and on the enforcement regime.
